Administrative Information Services - Data Administration

- Team Responsibilities -

• Design and build databases in support of University administrative functions.
• Create and monitor database load, backup and restore procedures.
• Create and monitor database performance and sizing procedures.
• Train Client Based Computing (CBC) clients in the use of programming tools and the Client Based Computing environments.
• Provide telephone and walk-in support to client programmers.
• Consult with other teams in Administrative Information Services on:

database and mainframe file development and implementation;

programming standards and conventions;

database and application performance;

application testing and promotion into production;

database support software maintenance;

development of standards and procedures for the various database and Client Based Computing environments; and

CBC database and mainframe file documentation.

• Troubleshoot database and environment problems.
• Notify AIS clients and other AIS teams of database table and/or mainframe CBC extract additions and modifications.
